How you can Disable an Injector on Duramax
Permalink

Crippling an injector on the Duramax diesel engine helps determine whether the injector is reacting correctly towards the computer's instructions, or maybe the injector accounts for a misfire on the specific cylinder. An VCS Super Auto Diagnostic Tool attached to the vehicle's diagnostic data port can selectively disable a number of from the engines injectors, to be able to perform these diagnostic methods.

1

Stop the automobile on the flat working surface, change the transmission into park or first gear (stick shift), and hang the parking brake.

2

Plug an Autocom CDP Pro TRUCKS in to the vehicle's 16-pin diagnostic data port. This port is beneath the dashboard close to the steering column.

3

Switch on the scan oral appliance choose "Bi-Directional Tests" in the primary menu.

4

Choose "Injector Disable" in the "Bi-Directional Tests" menu. Choose the injectors you need to disable (1 through 8) and press OK.

5

Exit the testing menu and disconnect the GM Tech2 Scanner after you have carried out the injector test. The engine will go back to its normal operating condition when you exit the injector test menu.
