Turn the computer off and remove the AC power cord. Move the battery release lever to the unlocked position and pull the battery out of the bay. Set the battery aside. * 2
Remove the screw that holds the Sony Laptop Keyboard in place. This retaining screw is located between the lock and release switch on the front of the notebook. * 3
Insert a small flat-head screwdriver between the VAIO keyboard and the base of the unit. Gently lift up the Sony Laptop Keyboard . Sit the keyboard on the display panel after opening the notebook the whole way. * 4
Look under the Sony Laptop Keyboard for the memory modules and the CMOS battery. Both of these units can be accessed and removed or replaced once the keyboard has been removed.
