Program a Transponder Key for any 2002 Ford Trip
Permalink

In 1996 Ford Motor Company started making special keys for many of their automobiles. Ford Transponder Key -- known as Securilock by Ford -- had an embedded computer nick that enabled the starter. Transponder key blanks cost between $15 to $25, and many sellers and locksmiths charge $50 to $75 to program them. You'll need two correctly designed keys to program a key yourself, consider getting additional key blanks and program them when you have original keys.

1

Place the very first designed key in to the ignition and begin the Trip. Turn it on not less than another, but a maximum of ten seconds, then power it down and take away key.

2

Place the 2nd designed key in to the ignition within ten seconds, and begin the Trip. Again turn it on not less than another, but a maximum of ten seconds, then power it down and take away the Transponder Key.

3

Place the unprogrammed key and switch the ignition on within 20 seconds. Allow the Trip run not less than another, then power it down, but leave the key within the ignition.

4

Watch out for the dash security light in the future on for 3 seconds to verify the new Honda Transponder Key continues to be effectively designed.
